Sanskriti Junction

Bringing Offline Culture, Wellbeing and Community Together

Sanskriti Junction is a Melbourne-based social enterprise creating healthier, happier and more connected communities.

In a world of increasing stress, screen time and social isolation, we bring people together through yoga, meditation, Indian folk dance, traditional art, cultural storytelling and values-based games.

Inspired by traditions and thoughtfully adapted for contemporary Australia, our inclusive programs support physical activity, creativity, confidence, emotional wellbeing and a stronger sense of belonging.

We work with schools, early learning centres, aged care providers, councils, workplaces and community organisations. Every experience is engaging, adaptable and designed for people of different ages, abilities and cultural backgrounds.

At Sanskriti Junction, culture is not simply something we observe—it is something we experience, share and celebrate together.

Every Journey Begins with a Question...

Meet Our Founder

What if Culture Could Heal?

What if dance Could Build Confidence?

What if the simple joy of gathering together Could make our Communities Healthier and Happier?

These questions have guided my journey for more than twenty years.

I’m Shweta Bhatti, Founder of Sanskriti Junction. My path has taken me from empowering rural women in India through community radio to working in Australia’s healthcare, education, and community sectors. Though each chapter was different, one truth remained:

People flourish when they feel connected—to themselves, to their culture, and to one another.

Discovering the Power of Connection

At SEWA in India, I helped create community radio programs that gave rural women a voice. Watching women who had never spoken publicly become confident storytellers taught me that real change begins when people feel heard.

Years later, working in Australia’s health system, I saw another side of the same story. Despite advances in medicine, stress, loneliness, anxiety, and lifestyle-related illnesses continued to affect families.

It left me asking:

What if we invested as much in preventing illness as we do in treating it?

The Moment Everything Changed

When I moved to Melbourne in 2018, I noticed many children from multicultural families lacked a connection to their traditional dance and festivals.

I couldn’t understand why.

Growing up in India, festivals were the happiest moments of my childhood. They brought families together, built friendships, and gave us a sense of belonging.

So, I began teaching traditional dance as a volunteer, hoping to share the joy I once knew.

Over the years, I witnessed something extraordinary. Shy children grew confident. Teenagers became mentors. One student with autism, who once struggled socially, blossomed in dance. She performed on stage with a smile that spoke volumes—dance became her bridge to confidence and connection.

That was the moment I realized:

Culture is not just heritage—it is a pathway to healthier, more connected communities.

Where Purpose Meets Community

Working in schools reinforced what I had already seen. Many young people struggled with anxiety, isolation, and too much screen time. But the children who danced, created, and connected grew happier, more resilient, and more confident.

In 2025, I founded Sanskriti Junction with one simple mission:

Bringing Offline Culture, Wellness & Community Together.

Through dance, yoga, meditation, music, art, and community experiences, we help children and families build confidence, resilience, and lifelong friendships.

Because I believe the healthiest communities aren’t built inside hospitals.

They’re built in neighbourhoods.

In schools.

In community halls.

On dance floors.

And wherever people come together with purpose and a sense of belonging.

Sanskriti Junction

My Vision

I dream of a future where children spend less time behind screens and more time creating, moving, and connecting.

Where culture is Celebrated.

Where wellness is a way of life.

Where every Child Feels seen and valued.

Where every Family is connected.

And every community Grows Stronger

And every Generation Carries forward the joy of belonging.

Because when people move together, learn together and celebrate together, they don’t just preserve culture—they build healthier communities for generations to come.
