Traditional Games and Social Connection

This interactive program uses traditional Indian games to promote positive behaviour, strategic thinking, communication and meaningful social connection.

A key feature of the program is our specially designed Snakes and Ladders behaviour-learning game, inspired by Moksha Patam—an ancient Indian board game and the historical predecessor of the modern Snakes and Ladders.

Moksha Patam was originally created to teach moral and spiritual lessons. The board represented the soul’s journey through life: ladders symbolised virtues such as faith, honesty and generosity, while snakes represented negative qualities such as anger, greed and dishonesty.

Drawing on this tradition, Sanskriti Junction has redesigned Snakes and Ladders to teach positive behaviour and expectations within school environments. Different versions are available for kindergarten, primary school and secondary school students, with age-appropriate scenarios, language, values and learning outcomes.

Through guided play and discussion, students explore how their choices and behaviours can lead to positive or negative consequences.
